섬유로 이루어진 기하학 형태의 유닛은 부드럽게 허물어지는 물성을 지닌다는 점에서 각본이 없는 비정형의 세계를 상징한다. 이 섬유의 세계는 기하학 속에 감추어져 있는 나의 내면의 잠재적인 공간이 된다. 규칙이 없는 나의 내면의 공간들은 헤아릴 수 없이 많고, 서로 어울리지 않으며, 파편적으로 부유하고 있다. 그 각각의 섬유 유닛들은 나의 내면의 작은 세계들이며 그것들의 연결을 통해 비정형적으로 수축하고 팽창하는 나의 내면의 모습을 형상화한다.
단추는 나의 내면, 그 각각의 세계들을 여미고 하나로 통합하는 기능을 수행한다. 단추는 부드러운 섬유를 조심스럽게 연결하면서도 동시에 조심스럽게 분리시킬 수 있는 특수한 패치워크(patchwork)를 수행한다. 나는 단추의 마법과도 같은 기능을 통해 예측할 수 없이 사방으로 뻗어나가는 비유기적인 나의 진실된 세계들을 동시에 묶어둘 수 있다. 단추는 어긋난 음들을 공존시켜 불협화음을 만들기도하고 몽타주처럼 불연속적인 장면을 연결시키기도 한다. 섬유의 작고 부드러운 파편들이 하나의 비정형의 문체로 묶임으로써 꿈틀대고 미끄러지면서 무한 증식할 수 있는 무형(amorphe)의 내면적인 공간이 드러나길 바란다.
A geometric unit made of fibers symbolizes an atypical world without scripts in that it has a softly torn property. This fiber world becomes my inner potential space hidden in geometry. My inner spaces without rules are innumerable, incongruous, fragmented and floating. The respective fiber units are my inner little worlds, and through their connection they shape my inner side that atypically contracts and expands.
The button performs the function of uniting my inner and individual worlds into one. The buttons carry out a special patchwork that carefully connects the soft fibers and at the same time carefully separates them. Through the magic of buttons, I can simultaneously bind my unforeseen true worlds of unpredictability. Buttons co-exist with discordant notes to create dissonances or connect discontinuous scenes like montages. I hope that the small, soft debris of the fibers will be bound together in an atypical style to reveal an inner space that is amorphous, capable of writhing, sliding and infinitely multiplying.
