I wrap cold, hard wire with warm, soft thread, connecting beginning and end. With the movement of my fingertips, the circle becomes a solid circle, or distorts and transforms into another form.
These flexible, shifting lines are delicately connected, and, in the artist's hands, they become a single world. The Donglami series explores the meaning of connection, circulation, and relationships within simple forms. I hope that coldness and warmth, hardness and softness, intertwine, and that the diverse emotions and thoughts of everyday life find harmony within these distinct circles.
